When choosing a child care program, look for a program that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. You should look for the following:
  • Frequent, positive, warm interactions among teachers and children
  • Planned learning activities appropriate to children’s age and development, such as reading stories, block building, painting, dress-up and active outdoor play
  • Specially trained teachers and administrators
  • Many varied age-appropriate materials
  • A healthy and safe environment for adults and children
  • Regular, two-way communication with families who are welcome visitors at all times

Please call or stop by any time for a visit. We would love to show you why Stepping Stones is so special! See the Contact Us page for contact information.

Our Gibsonia location (Warrendale Road next to the Pine-Richland High School) is NAEYC Accredited.  Since 1985, NAEYC has offered a national, voluntary accreditation system to set professional standards for early childhood education programs, and to help families identify high-quality programs. Today, NAEYC Accreditation represents the mark of quality in early childhood education.  Over 7,000 child care programs, preschools, early learning centers, and other center- or school-based early childhood education programs are currently NAEYC-Accredited.

Stepping Stones Children's Center proudly participates in the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS Accreditation Program.  Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to improve, support, and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania.  The Keystone STARS Performance Standards provide the foundation for the program.  The Performance Standards are grouped into four levels.  All six of our sites are proud participants of the STARS Program!
